Hi, I’m Ludovic.
Almost a decade has come and gone since I rid myself of my most troublesome clients and dedicated my time to helping the few clients I enjoy working with. Around the same time, I jumped headfirst into my “eccentric” hobbies including my education campaign through my privacy advocacy group, Privacy Canada. This journey has lead me down the exciting path of technical writing.

I fondly remember the years of my youth in the 1970’s as a boy with long hair running around outside until the sun went down with no thoughts towards anything related to my current interests. As I grew up, there were two defining moments that lead me down my professional path. In 1980, as a 16-year old, I had to pinch myself as my worldview shifted when I was introduced to my very own personal computer. The second major development was in 1992 when I encountered my first computer virus.
Since then, I became a network security engineer and have figuratively lived inside Linux systems as a bug hunter. I’ve even dabbled in academia. A number of years ago I decided to rid myself of clients that were responsible for the majority of my migraines to focus on the ones I actually enjoyed working with. As that freed up quite a bit of time, I started indulging my various hobbies—one of which is educating the masses.
Friends and family often ask why I decided to semi-retire and take up writing. My answers are as follows:
- I’m comfortable with my current income
- I have much more fun educating people while wearing pajamas rather than venturing into offices across the country.
- It is quite a thrill to plant the seed of Privacy Canada and equally thrilling to watch it grow into something unique and impactful
- I’m quite vain and I enjoy seeing my name in virtual print on websites I respect
What I primarily do
I write about the topics that interest me personally from a technical perspective. These topics are admittedly quite wide-ranging but revolve around technology and cybersecurity.
Technical Writing
“The most legitimate experience to be shared is the personal experience.” – Giharu Si Perempuan Gunung
I use my personal experiences to write about technical topics in an approachable and easy to understand manner.
Feature Writing
“Writing well means never having to say, ‘I guess you had to be there.’ ” – Jef Mallett
Technical writing was by beginning but it certainly isn’t my end as a writer. I provide feature writing services for topics that deal in my topics of interest.
Editing
“A real editor isn’t just someone you work with; he’s your guide.” – Ariel Levy
I pride myself in my ability to guide a writer through their journey through editing.
